You Know Me Better Than That
This was released in 1991 so I personally feel like it can't be old but apparently that's not how music works, so let's talk about it. Let me get this out there: lyrics, often of songs I actually really like or at least enjoy, get in my head and make me worry. Way more than there's any grounds for. I think lyrics matter, because people listen to songs and identify with them and adopt their ethos, so if we're talking about lyrics that, say, discuss keying a car's paint or stalking someone, we can get into how it's both a result of and a continuation of a cultural zeitgeist, but this blog isn't about that (although I might talk about it because I think about it). This is about me getting annoyed that George Strait is describing the narrator of his song being hard to get along with, and rather than work on his problems (okay it's 1991) he just grumbles about his current partner being someone he has to hide them from and wishing he was still with the pa
